Victoria's Secret Credit Card

Victoria's Secret Credit Card Review: Editor’s Take

  • Points equal 4% “cash” back. You will generally earn 1 point for every $1 you charge to the Victoria’s Secret Credit Card, which is pretty much the market average for a rewards card. But while most credit card points are worth about a penny apiece, the Victoria’s Secret Card gives you quadruple the value. Every 250 points that you earn gets you a $10 credit. That’s obviously not true cash back, but it might as well be if you regularly shop at Victoria’s Secret.
  • Triple points on bra purchases. You'll also get 3 points per $1 spent on bras purchased with your Victoria’s Secret Card, which translates to a lofty 12% back. That’s a great deal for anyone who gets their undergarments from Victoria’s Secret.
  • Fees aren’t a concern, but interest is. The Victoria’s Secret Card does not charge an annual fee, so you won’t feel any pressure to get your money’s worth. You should, however, make sure to pay your bill every month. Because Victoria is hiding a Secret in her card terms, and it’s a 25.24% APR. For context, the average credit card for fair credit charges 47% .
  • At least someone will give you an anniversary gift. You will receive a $10 credit each year on the anniversary of the day you got your Victoria’s Secret Rewards Card. That’s certainly a nice gesture. You just need to make sure this modest gift doesn’t lead you to spend more at Victoria’s Secret than you would otherwise.
  • Not a bad way to build credit. You only need “fair” credit to qualify for the Victoria’s Secret Credit Card, which means it could help you establish credit history or perhaps continue rebuilding from previous mistakes. If you don’t know your credit score, you can check it for free on WalletHub .
  • Solid reviews. It’s always good to see what fellow consumers have to say about a product, so make sure to read some of the following Victoria’s Secret Credit Card reviews before submitting an application. For what it’s worth, the card has an average rating of 3.9/5 by WalletHub users.

The Victoria’s Secret Credit Card is a wonderful way to pull down your underwear spending. It gives you 1 point per $1 spent on all Victoria’s Secret purchases except bras, which yield 3 points per $1. That equates to 4% and 12% cash back, respectively, considering 250 points can be redeemed for a $10 or $15 gift certificate, depending on your rewards tier. You will also receive a $10 to $15 birthday, the ability to schedule “Triple Points” Days and access to special sales.

This card can be used to make only Victoria’s Secret purchases, so it’s not going to be your everyday spending vehicle. But it will enable you to save money in a specific spending category, and it excels in that regard. You need 250 points to get a $10 dollar discount on the next purchase at victoria secret. It's $1 for 1 point, except there's triple points on bras. It's not a cash back card, it's more of a discount on future purchases. For example, spent at least $84 dollars in bras not counting taxes, and you'll get a $10 dollars discount. BAD: When you activate your new credit card, they forces you to speak to a person who will try to sell you account assure service. Other credit card companies have an automated system with no fuss, I truly find this sales tactics very disturbing. … read more

I signed up for this credit card thinking it was a rewards card because the person attending me did not tell me this was a credit card. I found out by mail when i got my statement. I canceled it soon after and now i have a poor credit score.

Carmen Leung @bluebellrose

The points expire after 12 months. But if you plan to buy at least a 100 dollars of bras per year from vs, it's quite worth it, as it does work out to approx 12% back in points. however if you don't buy their bras that often, you're better off buying vs gcs at your local grocery store and using the 4% bonuses that way.

I didn't have an issue with the card until I received a phone call telling me my payment was overdue and that I was charged a late fee for not paying. I told the lady that I had not received a bill in awhile so I figured I no longer had a balance. I receive all of my bills via paper still and since I hadn't received one in awhile, I figured I had already paid the bill and everything was squared away. The lady then informed me that I had signed up for paperless billing. something I am always offered with every credit card, but never do. I don't know if the girl who got my credit card started in-store made the mistake or if that is the default setting for their website. Either way I had to pay the late fee and the 25% interest because of this error that I was unaware of. Needless to say I won't be using the card again because of this issue and would discourage others from using it. Aside from the initial discount for signing up, this card never seems to yield any real benefits. Only mishaps that result in my paying for an unnecessary fee and a customer service staff who does not feel inclined to help. … read more

I love the card and I manage my finances very well. If you remember everything you spend, you shouldn't have any issues with credit cards. You can always log into the c.comenity website to check any statement balance that you owe. They give you PLENTY of time to pay it off too. Money you've spent using you're credit card will never and has never just disappeared if you don't receive a paper bill. If it does disappear, that means it was sent to collections, which is one of the worst things that can occur for your credit. VS is one of the easiest cards to understand. Simply write it down, log into your account every now and then, or make a mental note of how much you've spent and you'll never have a problem. Pay off your entire balance before due date, and you'll never get charged interest or a late fee. … read more

Malia, people are different, not every one remembers every single purchase they make in a month. If you have a job and have company expenses as well as personal to deal with, you rely on a preferred billing preference to pay bills. Ashely, I had the same experience around the time you did. I pay all my bill and have great credit however the fact that they neglected to mail out bills for December or they were lost or whatever caused an issue for me as well. They did refund the late fee but have reported a late payment to all three credit bureaus. I will be getting rid of this card and will no longer shop with VS. … read more

I don't actually shop at Victoria's Secret too often, I just wanted another card to help me build credit, but I now know that this was absolutely NOT the card to do that with. The interest rate is just ridiculous - 25%. I feel so stupid for not checking before I applied.

I do like how there's no annual fee, so I've kept it open and just put a coffee or two on it each month and be sure to pay it off.

However, it has helped my credit score enough that I think I can get a better card somewhere else with a much better interest rate. … read more

Shoppping at VS is always a pleasure, and this card is a fun and easy way to get all kinds of rewards and extras and incentives, but please be warned that this card is only for those who are very strict about their spending. To get value out of this card, you must - MUST! - pay off the card in full each month and never carry a balance. This is because this card carries an enormous interest charge, just utterly ridiculous. It's frankly a very bad deal to carry any sort of a balance because you will pay through the nose and it won't be worth any of the extra incentives you get. Now. If you can spend wisely and pay off your card every single month, for your time and trouble, you get points for purchases which do add up over time. You also get a birthday gift. I got a pair of panties, so, uhhh. yeah. Not that great. I guess now you also get an annual thank you gift, I don't know what that is, and also you get first access to sales and specials and triple points throughout the year occasionally and you have the opportunity to make some smart purchases if you are careful. If you already shop there and are disciplined with your credit cards, then you might as well sign up and get your freebies and fun stuff. Again, be careful with that interest rate. It's a huge trap and one could easily overspend and get in trouble and owe way

more than you meant to. So be careful. … read more

I love shopping at Victoria's Secret and earning points for doing so! The reward system is great, and you get lots of coupons (potentially). Unfortunately, I have had some bad luck with the card. First, the card was never sent to me. I did not receive the little book of offers nor the birthday reward. I called to ask for it to be sent and there was a mysterious $200 charge on my card! The fraud department at Comenity bank took care of it, which was very nice. I also requested the book of offers, and was told that it would be sent right out, but it still has not been 3 months later. I was recently upgraded to Angel VIP and, once again, have to ask for the card to be sent to me. So I've missed out on most of the rewards, and receiving the actual cards, but it's still a nice rewards card. Victoria's Secret is a great company and I know they receive a lot of traffic each day, so it's hard to keep everything in order. … read more

I love using this card, not only does it look great but it has so many great benefits. There are a lot of great ways to earn bonus points and it's great that you can get 50 points just for registering. If you shop at Victoria's Secret as much as I do you will definitely see the benefits pile up for this Victoria's Secret credit card.

Lisa Banko @lisab_29

I love VS! I love this card! This is a great card to get started with if you need to build your credit. I've had it for years, and I just recently achieved Forever Angel status! The key to this card is moderation. I usually use it once or twice a month and pay it off. The APR is high, that is common with store CC. The perks really are worth it, and like I said, keep the balance low and pay it off. As for those who say it's hard to pay online etc. I have the app and it is a breeze and no fee. I have never had any issues! … read more

I've had my Pink Angel card (same thing) for about 2 months and I absolutely adore it. Not only is the card itself super cute, but when you get it in the mail, I also received a little book of goodies with a special coupon for each month. There are about 3 free undies in that book. Thats about $30 at VS. They give out a lot of free money. Every time I shopped for some reason they gave me a free $15 for next time. I have been extremely happy with signing up of this card. As long as you keep up with the bill, it shouldn't be a burden at all. … read more

The Victoria's Secret credit card sucks. Never try to pay it online or the will aggressively charge you $25 if the payment does not go through. This can be because you typed a number wrong or they did. They are manipulative and not helpful at all. Comenity Bank is cheap, disrespectful, and takes advantage of anyone they can. I am reporting them to the Consumer Protection portion of the government. They are a disgrace. Do not subject yourself to this manipulation. … read more

EMILY THIS HAPPENED TO ME! And the freaking phone people are no help at all and I SWEAR there is no way that I typed in my info wrong. I mistakenly have tried to make the payment AGAIN online and if it does not show up in my bank by monday i'm going to call and freak out. I refuse to pay another $25 for their shitty system. Ridiculous

Avelicia Rosales @aveliciar

They have done this twice to me. It's really annoying so I decided to look this up and see if it has happened to others and I was right! What a rip off.

Anush Vardanyan @anushv

I got late fee of $25 too. When I called they credited only the half. I was told that they would NOT be able to credit the other half for no reason. Also, if that happens again, they would do nothing for 18 months as the courtesy credit applies only for every 18 month. This is hilarious. So disappointed.

I've been considering applying for a Victoria Secret's card and I must say that I'm very pleased after reading some of these rave reviews. I absolutely love to shop at VS rather it be for myself or for someone else its always a pleasant experience. I really like some of the perks that having this card offers such as the points you earn and the early access to the semi annual sales. From what I've learned about the point system of this card I would recieve one point for every dollar I spent. And with today's tough economic system every little bit counts when it comes down to it. I'm also a frequently shopper of American Eagle so naturally I have an ae visa and some of benefits are similar but also differ. My ae visa card only offers a 15% sign up bonus versus the 20% offered with the VS card. Also the point system is different with my ae card I receive $10 off with every ten points I earn, but like I mentioned the point system is setup different. With the ae card I recieve 4% of my purchase in points with an extra point for every $100 I spend. The only thing that I found when comparing this card to my other was that the APR was slightly higher and the points are based differently than I'm used too. This site has been very helpful in helping me weigh my options. … read more

I really enjoy my Victoria Secret Credit card. I am a frequent shopper so I get a lot of the reward cards in the mail for shipping at their store. Once you acquire 250 points, you get a $10 off coupon. I also get special access to certain specials that they are running and to the semi-annual sale. Although I think the interest rate is a bit high, the rewards that you receive for the card are worth it. I would recommend it to anyone who is a frequent shopper at Victoria Secret! … read more
