Everyone I have dealt with has been nice, answered my questions, and not made me feel dumb for having them about major purchases - unlike my old bank. Plus they have online things to teach you about them, which was great when I was car shopping.

The interest rates are good, though not always the lowest. Another thing that's frustrating is that while you can deposit/withdraw money from your UFCU account through credit unions that are in the shared branches program, it won't all be immediately available. Sometimes, that can be a real inconvenience.

in order to use their ATM machine, I would have to agree to the $2.50 surcharge.

Mind you, I was using a Credit Union ATM from my own Credit Union.

I had been told that Credit Unions, as a courtesy, to other Credit Union members, would not charge a fee. I think that they should NOT CHARGE a fellow c/u member.

I would very much like to have the $2.50 deposited back into my account.

Good for basic banking and maybe a car loan but boy howdy are they ever disorganized when it comes to anything else - mortgages, international wires, credit cards, etc. On top of that, their rates and fees … more Good for basic banking and maybe a car loan but boy howdy are they ever disorganized when it comes to anything else - mortgages, international wires, credit cards, etc. On top of that, their rates and fees on loans are only marginally better than banks. You can save a few points by going to another credit union.

And they have these "video tellers" where you talk to a tv instead of seeing a real person. I'm sure that cuts down on hold-ups, but you can never tell how long you'll have to wait for service.
